RANZCO is on a mission to make this our most sustainable meeting ever.

From the way we choose our venue partners, to the food we provide, we are taking a collective approach by encouraging and enabling all stakeholders with an opportunity to be involved.

Supporting Save the Kiwi

RANZCO 2026 – Supporting Save the Kiwi

In 2025, RANZCO delegates generously donated over $4,000 to support environmental restoration initiatives. Building on this success, RANZCO 2026 is proud to support Save the Kiwi, a leading organisation dedicated to protecting New Zealand’s iconic national bird.

Kiwi populations are under threat from habitat loss and predators. Save the Kiwi works on the ground through predator control, dog-avoidance training, monitoring, and kiwi incubation programmes to help give these birds a fighting chance in the wild.

How you can contribute:

  • $500 – Predator Monitoring Support: Purchases two field cameras to monitor predator activity and improve trapping efforts.
$250 – Predator Control Equipment: Buys one DOC 250 trap, effective in catching stoats or ferrets that threaten kiwi.
$100 – Protect a Kiwi: Provides bait, lures, and trapping equipment to help control predators in kiwi habitats.
$50 – Dog-Avoidance Training: Helps fund kiwi-avoidance training for one dog, significantly reducing kiwi deaths.
$25 – Feed a Kiwi Chick: Feeds a kiwi chick at an incubation facility until it’s ready to be released into the wild.

Donate via the Congress registration form and help protect one of the world’s most unique and vulnerable birds. Please note that if you need to reprint your name badge during Congress, a donation to the fund will be required to cover the reprint.
